The Gospel

What is The Gospel?
The word gospel is a modern rendition of the old English phrase good news. The fact that God came down in the form of man and died on the cross for our sins in place of us is, indeed, good news. I'll be explaining why.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 NKJV)
There are many questions you may have about this gospel like who Jesus is, and what it all has to do with you. On this page is the direct answer to what the gospel (good news) is. The FAQ page will cheerfully address the other questions.
There is so much I'd love to share with you on this subject because the Bible is so rich with the wonder of it all, but to get to the point for your sake I will present the gospel in a format nicknamed The Roman Road which refers to the path I'll take you through the book in the Bible called Romans. It was actually an encouragement letter to the Christians in Rome that were being ill-treated or killed for being Christians. Let's begin.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
(1 John 4:10)
As it is written: "There is none righteous, no not one . . ."
(Romans 3:10)
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
(Romans 3:23)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
(Hebrews 9:27)
There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
(Proverbs 14:12)
But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
(Isaiah 64:6)
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
(Acts 4:12)
. . . that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(Romans 10:9-10)
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(John 3:17-18)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
